that we enjoyed at a family get-together dinner today.
Really easy to do and yet super good. If you are worried about sugar and calories, you need to stay away from this dessert because it can "kill you", but you can still make it for others.
It has 4 layers of deadly ingredients....twice!! yup!! times 2= 8 layers..more layers than lasagna.
1 box of ice cream sandwiches (12 pieces)
1 (8oz) Cool Whip topping, thawed
1 jar of ice cream syrup
2 Butterfinger candy bars, chopped up
I used a 6x10x2 pan which is perfect to layer in 6 pieces of Ice Cream Sandwiches.
On top of the ice cream sandwiches, spread 1/2 of the Cool Whip topping and sprinkle 1/2 of the chopped Butterfinger candy bars. FREEZE.
Spread 1/2 jar of ice cream topping on top of the candy bars. FREEZE.
(I used 1/2 jar of the caramel syrup.)
Okay, you can STOP right here.

Oh, goodness, I am tempted to make this, sinfully delicious. This and the banana cream pie are in my to do list.
ReplyDeleteanonymous, this is a very rich ice cream cake recipe. my husband prefers the other recipe (#81), but most of our kids like this one though.you can try both recipes and let me know how you like them. the banana cream pie is my family's all-time fav.take care and thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteThanks MaMely, my husband and kids have sweet tooths and they like anything rich. These are definitely a must try for me. When you wrote about the recipe for the banana cream pie, which was handed to by your husband's cousin 20 years ago, and remains your family's favorite, I know it has to be good! And it will become my family and friends favorite, I can tell!I have my eyes on a spring get together, just in time for my garden bursting with flowers and their colors and I can show off my "cooking" courtesy of MaMely, yeah!
ReplyDeleteMy husband doesn't care much for the banana cream pies from any of the pie shops like marie callenders but loves this one that I make. It doesn't mean that their pies are bad. Glad you have something to look forward to comes Spring!
ReplyDeleteYes, I have something to look forward to cooking all these delicious recipes you have, MaMely. Just looking at the pictures make me drool. I love the chocolate sprinkled on top, nice presentation.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Anonymous!!!I'm really glad that you like these recipes.
ReplyDeleteMaMely,
ReplyDeleteWhere can you find Mrs. Richardson's fudge? I am gathering my ingredients for this recipe but did not see it at Foodlion or Walmart. Maybe, I did not look enough. This one has more layers than the one you made for your husband's birthday, (or was it Thanksgiving)?
Anonymous, the "Mrs Richardson" brands are just next to "Hershey's" and other ice cream fudge or caramel toppings.
ReplyDeleteI just like Mrs R's because her caramels are thicker. The one that has cookie crust has 4 layers. but this one has also 4 layers done twice.
Ohhh, you're gonna enjoy this one!!
